Hiked in following game trails about 1.5 miles/ 1 hour to pick up the Monashka Mtn trail where it enters the forest. Great hike up the trail - Kahtoola MicroSpikes were very helpful on frozen ground and snow. Extremely windy on to, so headed back down pretty quickly. I returned via the old ATV trail known as Three Bear Cove Trail or Marsh Trail. Some a-hole, m--f--r had ridden a large, powerful ORV and did devastating damage to the trail. I hiked only the two miles from Used-to-be-a-lake to the trailhead, but I suspect they went all the way to Ouzinkie Narrows as a couple downed trees blocking the trail had been chain-sawed and removed. Such willful disrespect for the landowner and the resource diminished the joy of a great hike. Sorry to hear of the motorized disrespect. Would enjoy seeing your hike photos but facebook is denying my attempts.
