Took the nice weather and went from Monashka via Airplane ridge to Anton Larsen Bay The stream crossing to head up airplane ridge Looking back on the trail up.... not much of a trail. It was very buggy and the brush was pretty bad. In retrospect, I think I would have taken a different route to Easter Sunday Mt. The view from airplane ridge Skirting the side of Easter Sunday to continue into the prongs. This is the only sketchy part of the trip. The grass slope is 40 degrees which isnt bad in dry weather but with any frost or moisture it would be a super slide. Looking back at Monashka Ridge Continued along the prongs and took this picture looking back Found 2 bears that I had walked past. They were in the bowl to the right of Easter Sunday in the previous picture First view of Anton Larsen bay and what i believe is Nipple Peak Plenty of goats No shortage of dirty looks from these guys Dropping down off the ridge and heading to the road Nice open bowls for walking The crossing at the green grotto It was a pretty amazing day on the ridge. Total trip was 11.5 miles and took about 7 hours. Many thanks to Philip for the pickup .

9/6/14 Philip, Lindsey and I decided with the nice weather to go cruise from Anton Larsen to Monashka Bay via the Devils Prongs. It was a glorious day with tons of sunshine. Heading through the forest Quite a landscape On top of one of the prongs The prongs were covered with blueberries The goats make paths on steep stuff. You can opt to go directly over most peaks which is a bit milder than the goat paths in a couple spots. We saw goats All those white specks are goats

Yes! Stunning hike through some stunning terrain. It had been many years since the last time I had traversed that section of the Prongs. It was worth another peek. Climbing into the alpine: Yes, the goat traverses offered great views (down). Now if we could only get them to cut ski trails...
