Such a beautiful day for a hike. I hiked through the woods to the pond, turned left and followed the trail to the coast, hiked the coastal trail, then dropped down to Big Buoy Beach and over to T Point. Some icy patches on trail which lessened as I got closer to the ocean - no need for cleats. Cooked in sun out of wind, drank a beer with lunch, then walked back along the coast. A Grand Day Out. As the trail is on Lesnoi land, a permit is required - I went rogue. I spoke with Julie Bishop today and she has suggested to Lesnoi that they make permits available for purchase online. They may also sell them at the kiosk on the spit. Currently, you have to contact Frank Bishop to purchase a permit. Although there is no enforcement at this time, Lesnoi is in the process of hiring enforcement officers. I am not opposed to the permit and plan to purchase one when it becomes less cumbersome to do so. The plus of permit purchase is that if a large number of hikers purchase them, it is concrete proof of the importance of T Point to local hikers.

Please send us your money, we accept all forms of payment. We will even accept briberies, auto and land titles, first born males, trees, blood sacrifice, cocaine, sex slaves, explosives, poisons of all sorts and guns. Dont worry about those friendly enforcement officers either, we hired them straight from BlackWater Security so you know you'll be safe. We do hope that a large number of you will purchase these permits so we can fund the destruction of the very places you like to hike. We are making a bundle, and thanks to our discriminatory policies on share holding we are able to help the citizens of Kodiak remove all those ugly forests by replacing them with beautiful landscaping. Notice how much better Chiniak looks after the renovation? We even made the roads better by packing them down with the logging trucks. Please purchase those permits.
Sincerely, Your neighbors @

Well, all sarcasm aside, whether we like it or not, the court cases are all over and Lesnoi has free and clear title to much of the recreational land on the road system. It's time to work with them to save as much as we can; it hasn't all been ruined yet.
