I did the same loop as yesterday and the day before - up the river to the canyon and home through the fields and back to the river. Excellent skiing - around 4 inches of new powder and really not very windy at all. Some wind near the outlet and that's it. Silent mantle of snow up the river - I could even hear woodpeckers knocking away in the distance at one point even as I skiied along. The ski tips mostly beneath the powder. But good skate skiing if you made sure to transfer your weight with every push. Again, as I said yesterday, probably better to go classic if you are not an advanced skate skier. But definetly go! An awesome glide through the woods.

SAY Same as yesterday. Maybe a tad windier at the Outlet. Wind pack at the outlet, but after you get to the rocky knoll (about 200 yards) it is all powder. On my way back I noted that my tracks blew in between the outlet and the knoll, but were still fresh everywhere else. Calm in the woods. Wonderful powder on a hard crust. Great skate skiing.
