Today Adelia and I walked a lot of the main and side trails in Swampy Acres to scout expansions of the current skiable trail system. It was raining the whole time, but the snow coverage in many areas was still impressive. The uppermost road still had between 12 and 18 inches of snow. The lower roads mostly had a few inches of packed slush, or ice. There were hardly any rocks showing except in a few spots where water is flowing on the road and has washed all the snow away. We just stomped around in Xtratufs and that was fine. We post-holed a little on the top road towards the antenna field. Some traction devices would be nice in a few sections, though we did all the trails without them. It was not particularly nice out there, and I don't recommend it per se. We were mostly interested in what the lesser traveled sections looked like these days since it has been a few years since I had been on them. Lots of potential in that area.
