I hiked up Barometer in the afternoon on the standard trail. The trail is in as good a shape as it can be; however, muddy spots were treacherous as the top layer of dirt thawed on top of frozen ground, causing slippery conditions. The lower part of the trail was more of a problem than upper reaches, especially coming down. I saw three "hunters", 2 adults and 1 juvenile, down the ridge toward Erskine who were skylining and talking loudly, so it's doubtful they had any luck. No wind and clear skies made for a superb hike.
