Monday 2/16/09 late morning: snow stuck solidly covering the rocks in the couloirs that drop you into the lower end of the South Bowl. Though crusty at the top 30 feet of the couloir I skied, it wasn't icy and the snow below that was soft enough to stop you if you fell and slid. The couloirs were more skiable than typical as the rocks remained well covered even after skiing over them.

I bet they would be good today too. It got warm enough to be perfect spring skiing conditions. No big pineapple warm spell either. We dodged a bullet. Patrick
