Anton Larsen Bay Road past the Coast Guard ComStation has not been plowed and is still a mess. I made it to about 0.5 mi below the hairpin turn before turning around and parking my Tacoma then proceeded on AT gear from there. Vehicles had made it to the wide spot below the hairpin but that was it. Snowboarders who stopped there had built jumps in the road just above the hairpin and a few snow machines had gone up. It looks like it will take quite an effort to clear the road to the ski chalet.
I skinned to the ski chalet parking lot (took about 40 min) then climbed up. Huge new cornice in first gully, but the snow looked stable. There seems to be a new base of frozen snow from yesterday, but now there is a couple inches of wet new snow on top of that so it is creamy not crusty. I did run into icy patches near the top of the bowls, but mostly the mountain seemed covered with hero snow. Whiteout conditions made the top tough, but I went down the s. bowl and had a great time shredding the 3-tree run, complete with big wet snowballs rolling past when I stopped.
Be careful out there, Gregg

Great report. Way to make the most of a seemingly dreary day. Thanks for the update.
