Stacy and I hiked out to T Point on Sunday - the trail was dry and in good shape in most places, gushy and muddy in all the usual spots. We went out the coastal trail and discovered that the shelter built at Midden Beach has been getting some use, including shotgunning down small trees. Someone had dug into the midden as well. The beavers have been quite active in the pond which is always nice to see. The return trail through the woods is dry now, but there is one major blowdown where the trail is closest to the old ATV trail. We felt lucky that no one shot at us at the beach. For those of you who may not know, the land at T Point is now owned free and clear by Leisnoi. So far, they have expressed reluctance at the idea of selling the land to be preserved as a hiking area. If you are a Leisnoi shareholder or know any shareholders, please tactfully lobby for preserving this area for recreation.
