While I have not floated Sargent Creek lately - I did talk to someone who did and I learned that there are a few trees over the river. But nothing that you can't see coming for quite a ways. However, they also told me that someone has put trees on the bank just above where the Volunteer Fire Department is located to protect the bank. The water flows into these trees and it is hazardous for novice whitewater enthusiasts. So when you come around the corner and see the first houses - go to the left bank and portage over the gravel. DO NOT ATTEMPT THE BEND.
Also - I gather Virginia Creek has been cleared of new fallen trees!

Thanks for the heads up on the trees and THE BEND - that's what makes this forum so valuable.
