The trails at Abercrombie have really thawed out quickly. The main drag from Parkside to Piedmont Point and on around the lake is now pretty much ice free. There is some rotten ice right near the Parkside gate but after that there is nothing, and the stuff near the gate is so rotten it is not really very slippery.
However, the trail by the 2 ponds from near the Parkside gate to the far corner (the one with the steep hill) is still REALLY bad. Glare ice with water on top - not rotten and very slippery.
So basically stick to the coast or the sunny side of the lake and you'll be good. No ice cleats required.
