I skinned up to the top of Pyramid from the switchbacks and met Lisa and Gregg in the 'gibber bowl'. It was snowing very hard while we were up there and as of 12:30 there was already about 8 inches of powder. On our way down we met a crowd of people heading up to ski. Basically it is powder skiing but you can't see anything! For this reason it is best to ski down low where the trees and bushes offer relief. Up on top I had to use a compass and altimeter to find my way down. Gregg and I also set off a slow moving avalanche so be careful. Basically the new snow is slabbing up but it is not sliding all that quick on the lower layer. I will post a few pictures and maybe a video of gregg skiing in a whiteout on our family blog later. saltonstall.blogspot.com/Patrick
