It was snowing pretty hard for most of our ski across the lake and up the creek and canyon, but the snow was very nice and there was no wind. We skied from about 11 am to 1 pm. We broke a new track, so going up the river was somewhat slow, but coming back was super nice. There is about 4 inches of new snow over a firm base, and it allowed itself to be packed into a clean track. Poling was mostly solid, and the snow offered good glide and kick once the track was established, though even breaking trail was actually not that much work. The road has some slush on it, but driving is not a problem. The parking area is especially slushy, but we had no issues in the Subie. I wore a light goretex top and bottom over a single, very thin wicking layer and I was very comfortable and would wear the same thing again given the same conditions. The snow is coming down pretty hard and the temps are warm, so you would get wet if you didn't wear something water resistant. If I had any more layers on underneath I would have overheated, I think. Adelia loses the limbo contest.
