I'm still hopeful that global warming will kick in and we will eventually have a spring, perhaps even a summer. So how can we keep using this forum through the lesser-snow months? Biking/kayak/hiking postings?
Thanks, Phillip, for putting it all together.

I went ahead and created Trail and Kayak message pages too as place holder examples. If anyone has further ideas on what sort of content deserves its own page, post some suggestions. I'd be happy to slap together whatever folks want to see. To see the new pages, back out to the main Kodiak Snow Report page and click the other links under the General Boards. kodiaksnow.proboards.com/index.cgi

I hope to be skiing well into July! Last year I skiied on Pyramid into August. So never fear, I'll be posting here in Summer.
Also, I was thinking about the other 'trail' and 'Kayak' forums and it got me thinking about conditions. How do kayak conditions change? I guess the water might freeze over, but other than that water is water. Actually, now that I think about it I'll be posting here about river conditions! White water kayaking - the rivers and creeks here fluctuate daily, and we have some good whitewater.

I agree that some boards will have limited utility in terms of providing up-to-the-minute feedback on current conditions, but I could give other folks ideas on what is fun to do around here that may not normally occur to them. River levels or road/trail conditions on to Saltery Cove or Summit lake may be useful. If the bear or goat watching is good somewhere, or if rockfishing from a kayak is hot off some sea mount, that may be worth passing along.

Maybe for the trails and kayak forums you could have specific places that don't drop off as much - like woody Island Channel. Or backside of pyramid. Less threads and more posts? But yeah it does look like a good idea. Especially if people post photos. Patrick
