I'm freaking wiped. We put in a bit over 60 miles today and rode from the Heitman trailhead out the Chiniak Hwy to the Pasagshak turnoff, and then to the end of the pavement at Narrow Cape and back. It started out quite warm and the whole ride out was in shorts and short sleeves, but on the way back a bit of a breeze developed from the north and it cooled off about 5 or 10 degrees. There was also more traffic today than yesterday. The motards were out with every means of offroad conveyance known to humanity on trailers or in the back of F250s and hurrying hither and yon to "recreate" their way towards peak oil. Or something. There seemed to be a Burning Man gathering going on at the beach by the Bear Paw Ranch judging by the tents and cars out there. Anyway, the day was still stunning and sunny, etc, and the ride is still highly recommended, especially now that I'm comfortably back on the couch with a beer. ;D Going past Northland Ranch: Amazingly warm despite snow all around on the way over Pasagshak Pass: The Lake Rose Tead causeway: Just past the turnaround with Ugak Island in the distance:
