I don't usually review the skiing sight unseen, but today If I did not have to work I'd be off skate skiing on the Upper Buskin or at the golf course in the morning before the crust softens up. It should be excellent. I might even try it out at the pass later on - on the north and west facing side where the snow should stay firm for a bit longer. Patrick

And it is good! I parked at the parking area just past the golf course and skate skiied to the river, thru the meadows and up above the canyon to about half way to the Elbow Creek pass. About an inch of soft corn on a fairly firm crust. I went at 2 PM and the crust was still good back at the car when I returned - so I think the golf course will still be good at 5PM. It would definetly be good for classic skiing.
Surprisingly enough, the crust got soft and breakable when you went under trees. I think the limbs kept the warmth from radiating and these areas had not frozen as much. Out in the fields the crust was solid. I bet the crust on Pyramid does not soften up today - and the flat light light looked terrible for downhill. Nordic skiing is the way to go today.
The river is flowing now - so you had to cross it at least once. But it is mostly a thin canyon cut into the 3 feet of snow on either side of it. The upper canyon is done. I saw goats only about 50 yards away in the upper canyon just above where the waterfall would be. Patrick
