Climbing Crown Mountain (from Bells Flats)

I took advantage of this past weekend's spectacular weather to finally climb Crown Mountain. I have been past it a number of times now, but was always in too much of a hurry or didn't trust the snow conditions on the mountain enough to go over the top. I started from Bells Flats going up the 4th of July Peak trail, headed south towards Center along the alpine bench above Bells Flats, and then climbed over the 3 mountain ridges separating Center from Crown. I climbed Crown around 2 PM on the second day, and then started for home. It's about 17 miles along the fastest route that I know of from the end of Sargent Creek Road to the top of Crown, with a lot of climbing in the middle.

Great videos! Alitak to Old Harbor?

Never been between Alitak and Old harbor, other than going via Larsen Bay. The brush, mountains, and saltwater bodies make the route look like a horror show, but I bet it's been done. :^)

Wow, what an outstanding trek! I was wondering if you created a gpx file for this?

I don't have a file specific to that hike, but it is part of the Terror Lake to Town route which you can find here as a kml.
