Some folks here may be newbies when it comes to posting images on the interwebs. If you ever wanted to learn how to impress everyone out there on the world wide web message boards, here is your chance to learn. I have broken the whole process down into a series easy steps that will take you from image posting zero to hero. This tutorial looks long, but that is only because I have included a screen shot of every single step of the process.
First, go to Flickr.com and open an account.
Step one: type flickr.com into your browser and hit the link that says "Create your account"
On the next page, either sign in to your Yahoo account (if you already have yahoo mail or similar) or click the link that says "sign up"
Let's assume this is your first time on the internet and you don't have a Yahoo account. The next step is to fill in the fields on the sign up page. The hardest part is figuring out what the security code says and typing it into the field. I think this one says "VJLFAe"[/b][/color]
Next, click "carrot" (triangle) next to the link that says "You", and from the menu that pops up select "Upload Photos and Videos" [/b][/color]
Next, click the huge link that says "Choose photos and videos" and when the browse window pops up, locate the image(s) you want to show the world, then click OK or Select or whatever...[/b][/color]
You should see a list of the pics you have selected. Make sure the "Public" radio button is clicked, and then hit the "Upload Photos and Videos" link:[/b][/color]
After the upload is complete, you will get a page like this:[/b][/color]
Click the link that says "add a description"...
...and on the next page, just click on the image itself...[/b][/color]
Above the pic, click the link that says "Actions" and choose "View all sizes"[/b][/color]
Next, click on a reasonable size (I like pics that are around 1,000 pixels in the long dimension) and then right-click on the picture itself, and choose "Copy image location" (for Firefox) or "Copy Image Address" (Safari). The location of the picture is now in memory (on the clipboard) ready to be pasted.[/b][/color]
Lastly, put this code inside tags in the body of your message. PLEASE TAKE NOTE OF THE SLASH (/) IN THE CLOSING img TAG![/b][/color]
When you are done, post your message and let the world enjoy your pics too.[/b][/color]
