There is good snow coverage at the golf course but it is very crusty and fast. Same is true at the pass. I've been skate skiing above the ski chalet and while excellent it is VERY FAST and should be considered 'advanced' conditions. Patrick

2/20 At lunch I went for a quick ski on Lake Catherine/Genivieve - the lake in Swampy Acres. It was excellent skate skiing and the ice is solid right to the edges. The only place to worry about (and you always have to worry about even if it has been very cold) is the far end of the lake where the stream enters. I do loops and cut this end off.
Fast skate skiing with good edge control - and warm! I rolled up my sleeves and did not wear a jacket.

Monday the 5th March - I skied the golf course over lunch and it was EXCELLENT skate skiing. I did not have the time to try anything else, but am curious about the upper Buskin. The golf course was partially thawed corn snow. Excellent edging and fast but total control. Patrick
